The bare bones for the Illustration Friday project

Whilst creating a costume for my daughter to wear, as part of a school project, my mind wandered to the numerous, often torturous, fancy dress outfits children across the land are forced to wear. From 'dinosaurs' to 'carrots' the possibilities are endless!

Yeay! I am now a bona fide member of the AOI. Lets hope that it brings with it much good luck and a commission or two!

I put together a quick design for the Kleenex Tissue Box Competition. I wanted to use typography and words that represented physical and emotional reasons why you would use a tissue. It's still in need of some tweaking but I'm enjoying doing it.

In the effort to try and maintain some kind of momentum now that University has come to an end I'm going to continue 'doodling' and collaging and posting bits and pieces on this blog. I've quickly done this "love birds" piece based on a doodle in my notebook. Once again I've loved creating the typography out of card. Hope you like it! :)

Well, our Degree Show opened on Friday and it couldn't have gone any better. I'm so thrilled with the response we got, the amazing turnout and above all the fantastic work shown by the friends I've made during the past couple of years. I'm feeling sooooo sad that it's all come to an end but excited by what the future holds. World of Illustration here I come!

Work in Progress

I am currently preparing various elements for my forthcoming website, including these 'buttons'. They might be tricky to do but they reflect the style of my work beautifully. They're full of charming handcrafted imperfections which is one of the reasons I love creating paper-cut typography so much.

I just love creating type!

Give me a pencil, some card and a scalpel and I'm a happy girl.
